As the Communications and Development Manager, Abby is responsible for leading and coordinating Equity Advocates’ communications and fundraising strategies, managing our digital presence, and crafting compelling messages that amplify our mission, engage supporters, and expand our donor base. Abby has five years of experience working in the food and education nonprofit space in New York City and uses her expertise to build strategic messaging, network-building, and fundraising tools in support of food equity and the health of New Yorkers.
Prior to Equity Advocates, Abby worked at Wellness in the Schools as Development and Communications Manager, leading compelling marketing campaigns, grant writing, donor research, and community partnership efforts to ensure access to nourishing food and active play for over one million public school students nationally. She also has a background in publishing and editing; she served on several teams with Princeton University Press to prepare for the publication of dozens of nonfiction titles annually, and held a Senior Copy Editor role at The Daily Princetonian to advise and advertise the journalism on campus as well as build out the paper’s photography department.
